Once upon a time there was a jam fairy that hides in a tiny shop in a cute Alsatian hillside village… This is not a fairy tale! You will find Christine Ferber aka “Jam Fairy” in Niedermorschwihr, a charming little village near Colmar – 55′ drive from Basel.
Christine makes jam in the best tradition: simmered in open cauldrons with plenty of the best fruits and just the right amount of sugar. Her recipes often combine a traditional jam flavor (apricot, strawberry, orange, rhubarb, fig…) with one or several less common ingredients (gingerbread spices, elderflower, fresh mint, black pepper…) which subtly enhance the jams and give them unique personalities.
Her shop “Le relais des 3 épis” looks very traditional, even a bit old-fashioned … how could one imagine that Christine enjoys great worldwide reputation for her delicious and high-quality jams!
Christine’s jams are served in the world’s best restaurants by chefs such as Alain Ducasse and the Maison Troisgros but also in the most exclusive hotels such as the Crillon and Georges V in Paris and the Connaught in London.
Brad Pitt and Johnny Hallyday love her. I do too!
